My first blog post ever

Ok so it's happened, I have caved to the world of bloggers. I thought that I would be satisfied with just hanging in the wings letting my sisters and close friends take the blog spotlight but I'm afraid that common sense has taken hold again. I'll be taking a little three month excursion to Italy this fall and I realized that it would be easiest to keep in touch with everyone and share all my experiences if I had a blog. So here it goes, the blogging has begun!

May I also insert a shout out to my sister Claire for helping me with the name of this blog; cute play on words with an Italian flair, she really nailed it I think.
